DescriptionPapers relating to a proposed new charter drawn up in the early 1840s, including two manuscript drafts of the Charter and four copies of a printed draft of the proposed new charter circulated to Fellows - all with manuscript annotations. Also contains a memorial from 'certain Licentiates of the College', they objected to the proposal in the new Charter that open the Fellowship of the College up to all Licentiates, rather than just those who are graduates of Trinity College Dublin, the memorialist felt that this undermines the value of the Fellowship to them and as such should not have to pay the current fee for election of £20. Memorial is signed by Henry Law Dwyer, Edw[ard] Stock and W[illia]m Barker, also includes a notes that Doctor Hugh Carliles did not sign the memorial as he was absent but the other act for him.
