| Description | Files contain various printed newsletters produced by the hospital staff and management. They consist chiefly of ‘Heart of the Mater’ (Nov 1988-[cJune] 2006) produced in conjunction with the Mater Foundation, which contains news and photographs on hospital projects, fundraising events and other social events; and ‘Nuacht’ (Aug 1966-cJul 1969) and it’s later edition ‘Mater News’ (Apr 1998-May 2014) both written and published by staff. Both contain staff news (births, deaths, marriages etc.), articles and photographs on hospital news, social events, cartoons and competitions. Later versions of ‘Mater News’ (post 2000) become more formal and contain the CEO’s report, hospital statistics and news updates. There is also a file of miscellaneous hospital newsletters mainly concerning Quality and Accreditation and hospital-wide updates. |
