| Description | This subsubseries contains notebooks, letters, immigration documentation and ephemera from Kirker's Travelling Scholarship to Boston Children's Hospital.
Kirkers scholarship began in c. April 1948 and ended in c. November 1949. During this time in the United States he trained at Boston Children's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. In May 1949, an application for a six month extension on his visa was submitted to the Department of Justice Immigration and Naturalization Services. During this period Kirker travelled to Montreal, Canada and worked at the Royal Victoria Hospital and The Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital. Kirker was readmitted to the United States in June 1949 and left on the MV Britannic in December 1949.
