TitleCampbell estate trust
Date1837-1850
Creator NameCorrigan, Sir Dominic, 1802-1880
DescriptionIn 1843 Dominic Corrigan was appointed as trustee to the Campbell estate trust. The trust had been established in 1837 by Peter Campbell of FitzWilliam Street, Dublin to provide for his wife Margaret Campbell and any children in event of his death. Peter Campbell died in 1842 and one of the original trustees was unwilling to act and so was replaced by Corrigan. The estate was comprised of various accounts, shares and bonds, including two from Charles Gardiner, 1st Earl Blessington. In May 1849 Corrigan became desirous of resigning his position as trustee as he was concerned by 'circumstances which have lately occurred within my own immediate connections in relation to some trusts ... [and] the chance however remote of implicating myself or family', this was finally carried out in January of the following year.
