DescriptionRegister of Established Servants and Register of Officers - pay/pension records

Each book is split into 30 sections, which each contain 18 pages, as well as two pages at the beginning and another two at the end, bringing the total page count to c.526. In the officers' register, opposite the endplate, there is a letter that had been taped to the endpaper that explains the contents of the ledger and the time period it covers. In the servants' register, opposite the endplate there is a reference to the hospitals' adoption of the Local Government Act, 1948 Part III.

The first page of each section in the officers' register is divided into thirteen columns and five rows. The columns are titled in the following way: "Office", "Name of Office", "Date of Birth", "Commencement of Office", "Sanction Reference", "Salary Scale", "Date of Increment", "Annual Leave Allowance", "Emoluments", "Other Pensionable Service", "Total Pensionable Service", "Allowance", "Gratuity Lump Sum etc.", and "Remarks". Of these categories "Emoluments" is split into three further sections entitled: "Nature", "Annual Value", and "Termination of Office". "Other Pensionable Service" is also split into two categories entitled: "Office" and "Period". The rows are left blank for the insertion of the details of five members of staff.

The first page of each section in the servants' register is divided into fourteen columns and five rows. The columns are titled in the following way: "Employment", "Name of Servant", "Date of Birth", "Commencement of Employment", "Sanction Reference", "Salary Scale", "Annual Leave Allowance", "Emoluments", "Termination of Employment", a blank columns with two further subsections, "Total Pensionable Service", "Allowance", "Gratuity Lump Sum etc.", a handwritten column title of "Date of Entry on Register", and "Remarks". Of these categories "Emoluments" is split into three further sections entitled: "Nature", "Annual Value", and "Weekly Value". The rows are left blank for the insertion of the details of five members of staff.

The middle sixteen pages of the sections are divided into sixteen columns as follows: "Particulars of Remuneration", each month of the year, "Total", "Particulars of Leave", and "Remarks". "Particulars of Leave" is further divided into three categories: "Annual", "Sick", and "Special". These pages are also divided into five rows for each patient listed on the first page of the section. Each of the five rows are further divided into the following categories: "Salary", "Emoluments", "Total", "Deduction In. 5%", and "Paid". Each of these pages record a full year, from April to March, ranging from 1949 to 1962.

The final page in each section is intended to be used to record the annual, sick, and special leave taken per year, but have been left blank in this ledger.

From section fifteen onwards, the register of established officers changes to pensionable officers. These records range from 1957 to 1962. This change likely occurs due to the Superannuation Regulations, 1957.

In the register of servants, section fifteen also changes from established to pensionable. Section twenty-one and onwards is blank.

On the final page of the register of officers there is a handwritten note stating the following: "Copy of this register given to M[r]. Mc Elree (establishment sector) Dublin Board of Assistance at request of M[r]. Ennis, local government auditor. 22/10/51."
