Pessary/Suppository Mould

Metal pessary/suppository mould. Three rectangular pieces are secured together with a screw in the centre. The centre of the middle piece is engraved with the words: "15/SAUNDERS/LIVERPOOL". There are 12 bullet-shaped mould holes.

Student's Dissection Kit

Student's dissection kit containing the following instruments:


3 tweezers

2 scissors

3 scalpels

2 packs of surgical blades

2 cut-throat razors

4 needles (two stoppered with pieces of rubber)

2 probes with curved ends

1 spatula


The needles and one of the probes have red wooden handles. The razors have plastic handles, one black and the other white. The blade of the black one is engraved with the words: "SPROCK QUALITY" and "GROUND IN HAMBURG", and on the blade of the white one: "RICHARDSON ESTBD. 1796 LIVERPOOL". One of the scissors is engraved: "GILL SHEFFIELD ENGLAND". All inside a tan-coloured roll-up canvas case, upon which is written the name "ANNE FREEMAN" in black pen.

Set of Scalpels in Case

Set of six scalpels in a rectangular metal case. Three of the scalpels are stamped with maker's names: "ALLEN & HANBURYS/LONDON", "WHITE & WRIGHT/LIVERPOOL" and "CLARKES (S...CCRS)". Somewhat rusted.
