DescriptionBronze medal issued to commemorate the centenary of the death of French physician, musician and inventor of the stethoscope, René-Théophile-Hyacinthe Laënnec (1781-1826). Obverse: bust of Laënnec with the words "R.T.H. LAËNNEC 1781-1826" to the left, and the maker's name and date "Georges Hayen 1926" to the right. Reverse: the words "CENTENAIRE/DE/LAËNNEC/1826-1926" within a wreath of oak and laurel. The edge is stamped with the word "BRONZE".
