A particular focus is made to collecting books and researching books that would be suitable for distribution to the poor. Items in this file were labelled by the Society as either “Education” or “Books” but have been kept together due to overlapping content.

One typed inquiry entitled the “Association for Difountenancing VICE and promoting RELIGION and VIRTUE” calling for different Parishes to answer questions relating to the education of the poor. Signed by secretaries: James Maxwell and William Maturin, dated, 25 July, 1799.
