DescriptionThe Utility Society was set up in 1933 to establish model tenement homes for some of Dublin's poorer citizens, and was part of a wider movement of Utility Societies encouraged by the Irish State. The flats were built in the 1930s and 1940s but problems with tenants and legal disputes led to them being handed over to Dublin Corporation and the winding up of the society in the 1940s.

The agenda book covers the entire existence of the Utility Society, it gives details of meeting dates, attendance and agenda items, decisions made at the meeting are also noted. Subject covered include the financing and building of the flat, accounts, legal disputes, tenants and their complaints and renovations.
