| Description | Papers relating to a case brought by the College as to the right of Licentiates of the College to use the initials MD after their name, if they held no degree in medicine from a university. The College argued that such Licentiates were entitled to do so under the Medical Act 1858, but the General Medical Council contested this interpretation and their view was successful. File contains letters, cases for opinion, legal costs and manuscript notes (1859-1864). File also contains letters from 1891-2 and 1903 relating to the same issue. |
