TitleDressing Shears
Date1925-1975
Creator NameA.W Staniforth, 1841-1921
DescriptionThis is a pair of dressing shears with a round point and a close shank. They have two finger loops at the top, with medium-length shank that interlock at a screw joint. They culminate in two blades that form the scissor. By the scew joint, "A.W STANIFORTH CARDIFF" are engraved, and "SHEFFIELD Stainless Steel" engraved on the opposite side, with the large "S" being the starting letter for all three words. On the interior aspect of the shank with the stainless steel engraving, there is a "6" engraved.

The shears show mild signs of wear and tear in the form of scratching, with mild signs of corrosion evident on one side at the screw joint and right before the finger loops.

These shears would have been used for wound care, particularly for cutting dressings and bandages.
