DescriptionThis item is a sealed, unused Ethicon Ethilon Non-Absorbable Suture. The package has a clear plastic side and a paper side, which are meant to be peeled apart to open. Inside, there is a smaller green sealed package with black writing that says: “Ethicon Ethilon Black Polyamide 6 Monofilament Non-Absorbable Suture 45 cm Sterile | R.” It includes European certification number 0086, the manufacturer’s name, registration, and lot number. There’s also a black dart showing where to peel and open the package. The label states it contains a “5/0 (1 metric) PS-2 19mm 3/8 c reverse cutting P Needle.”

Ethilon sutures are non-absorbable, sterile surgical threads made from Nylon 6 and Nylon 6,6. They are dyed black or green for better visibility in tissue, but can also be clear. These sutures are used for general soft tissue stitching, including in heart, eye, and nerve surgeries.
