TitleRheinstadter's Flushing Curette
Date1900-1949
Creator NameFannin, Medical supply company, 1829-
DescriptionThe flushing curette is the Rheinstadter's type, and is made of plated metal.

It is composed of a long shaft, enabling deep access into the uterus for effective tissue removal, with knurled ergonomic handle for grip, where "FANNIN DUBLIN" is engraved, and a cup-shaped tip.
The tip has a circular hole in the centre, flanked by two longitudinal holes, which enabled tissue grasping and efficient flushing.
The shaft is a hollow tube, open at both ends, allowing for the passage of fluids during flushing procedures.

There is heavy flaking on the handle and the shaft of the curette, concentrated predominantly on the handle and the part of the shaft closest to the handle. There is also some residue at the opening of the shaft in the tip.
