| Description | This is the Cardiopan 571 (MIMM/2015-1-1) associated equipment, designed to support its function as a medical diagnostic tool. This includes three rolls of thermal paper, millimetred thermal paper providing a precise grid format for accurately printing ECG results using the device's stylus. The grid is in red ink, and at the bottom "Made in England" is printed in blue ink. Each roll appears stained.
Also included are two red plastic belts with perforations, one of which is broken, designed to be adjusted to fit the patient’s body, ensuring secure placement during use. The set further comprises nine metal components, likely serving as electrodes, which detect the electrical signals produced by the heart. These appear corroded, and one features a piece of a plastic band with circular perforations.
Finally, a collection of cables connects these electrodes to the machine, transmitting the heart’s electrical signals for processing and recording. These cables are of different colours, based on the colour coding for each connection: red for the right arm, yellow for the left arm, green for the left leg, black for the right leg, and white for the chest. The latter features a green pump and chest piece. Donated by Dr. Teresa Mitchell. |
