DescriptionThis is a vaginal speculum of the Auvard type. It is composed of smooth jaws with two lateral holes and a blunt tip, which helps it slide through the vagina. It has a long handle with a detachable weight. This type of vaginal speculum is self-retaining thanks to the weight. The inner side of the jaw has a yellow tape attached. The detachable weight is nickel-plated and heavily corroded. It is made of steel, with “Fannin” engraved on one jaw.
