DescriptionThis is a stainless steel artery forceps. It is stamped “Made in England” on one shaft and “Stainless Steel” on the other. It can be locked by adding pressure and interlocking the ridges at the centre of the two blades. The tips feature serrated blades for grip and are curved upwards. Minor corrosion is present. This instrument is still used to control bleeding from blood vessels by clamping an artery. It is part of the Dr Diarmuid O’Driscoll Collection.
