| Description | This is a retractor of the Doyen type. It is made of metal and features a wide, angled blade with blunted rims, and a curved handle with two projections for a secure grip. The upper surface of the blade has a concave shape. Signs of corrosion and wear and tear are visible. Named after the French surgeon Doyen (1859-1916), this instrument is still used to retract and expose tissues during surgical operations. |
