DescriptionThis is an empty bottle. It appears as a clear, amber glass bottle of a hexagon shape, where two sides are decorated with longitudinal embossing and one with the embossed writing ‘not to be taken’. The bottom is embossed with ‘4 OZ 3’. No labels and no manufacturer’s mark are present.
The phrase "Not To Be Taken" on bottles indicated tha the contencts were poisonous or hazardous and should have not be ingested. It was commonly used in the 19th and 20th centuries to prevent accidental posionings.
