DescriptionThis is a sealed, envelope-like white package with black ink writing describing its contents as follows: "Entered at Stationer's Hall. The Aseptic Vaccination Pad AVP As adopted by the Vaccine Department Local Government Board for Ireland AVP INFANT'S SIZE. Read Directions Carefully. Envelope contains a Sterilised Pad, and therefore should only be opened immediately before application. Slightly warm the Plaster and apply firmly immediately after vaccination. The Plaster Straps must not meet around the arm; if too long, shorten. A fresh pad should be applied whenever required. When removing the pad, should it stick, bathe off gently with warm water, and dust the arm with Boric Powder. NATIONAL VACCINE INSTITUTE, 80 SANDYMOUNT ROAD, DUBLIN." On the other side, numbers are handwritten using a blue-ink pen. Signs of wear and tear, such as stains and cuts, are visible.
