DescriptionHand seal of the King and Queen's College of Physicians in Ireland (later RCPI). Ivory handle with circular metal die, depicting a pelican holding a snake in its beak surrounded by the text (in reverse) "COLLEGIUM MEDICORUM". This image is taken from the seal showing Hercules slaying the Hydra, a design used by the College from 1692-1863.
