| Description | Bronze medal bearing the profile bust of Irish surgeon Edward Hallaran Bennett (1837-1907). Obverse: around the edge are the words "IN.HONOREM.EDVARDI.HALLARAN.BENNETT.PROF.CHIR.1906" and in smaller font to the left of the head are the maker's name and date "O.SHEPPARD.F.1906". Reverse: an image of a broken bone with the eponymous Bennett fracture sitting atop a laurel wreath surrounded by the words "VIRI.IN.FRACTIS.OSSIBVS.COLLOCANDIS.SOLLERTISSIMI". The edge is stamped with a small triangle beside the word "BRONZE". |
