DescriptionFramed Zeughaus Museum Presentation Gewehr 88 Bandana presented to Major General Francis Joseph O'Meara. Square piece of textile displaying various German military imagery. Black and red striped border decorated with red circles with black dots at centre. Nameplate at bottom of frame reads: "TO MAJOR-GENERAL F.J.O'MEARA/FROM THE ROYAL ARMY MEDICAL/CORPS/FOR VALOUR, NOBILITY A HUMANITY/TRINITY COLLEGE DUBLIN". Label attached to back of frame reads: "THE ZEUGHAUS MUSEUM PRESENTATION GEWEHR 88 BANDANNA/A GIFT TO BE PASSED TO OUR FRIEND IN TWO WARS MAJOR GENERAL O'MEARA/WHO JOINED THOSE POWs FROM ST HELIER JERSEY WHO REVISTED WALD WOLFEGG/1970 AS GUESTS OF THE PRINCES OF WALDBURG WOLFEGG IN MEMORY OF THEIR/TIME AS POWs DURING THE WWII./THE BANDANNA WAS EIGHT OF TWENTY FIVE PRESENTED AND ON BEHALF OF/THE UBERLINGEN HEBSACKER FOUNDATION ARE PLEASED TO GIFT THIS AT THE/RAMC DINNER TRINITY COLLEGE DUBLIN".
