DescriptionSilver-gilt ewer of elongated baluster form with s-scroll handle cast in the form of a therm, the double ribbed body chased and engraved with masks and animals amidst foliage and strapwork and raised on a stepped circular foot. Underside of foot inscribed: "Presented by/Dr. J. Stephen Doyle/to the Fellows of the/Royal College of Physicians of Ireland/to mark his Presidency/31st May 1991 - 18th October 1994". Neck stamped with maker's initials "H&R" and London hallmarks for the year 1867. Rim of foot inscribed: "HUNT & ROSKELL LATE STORR & MORTIMER 4316".
