Inscription, which is quite worn, reads "Used by/His Excellency/The Earl of Carlisle/Lord Lieutenant of Ireland/in laying the foundation stone/of the College of Physicians/in Kildare St. Dublin/7th July 1862/W.G. Murray. R.H.A. Archt."
