Nameplate on frame reads: "DOMINIC JOHN CORRIGAN M.D./Physician in Ordinary to the QUEEN/in IRELAND/This PORTRAIT is placed here by the FELLOWS of/the COLLEGE OF PHYSICIANS, to record their sense/of DR CORRIGAN'S service, whilst filling the office of/PRESIDENT for the period of five years, from 1859 to1864,/during which time, & mainly owing to his exertions, this/BUILDING was commenced and completed."
