| Description | This is a Coldlite Diagnostic Set. The top of the case bears the inscription "Coldlite Trademark" in silver ink, made by the manufacturer Vann Bros. Made of metal, the set is stored inside a black faux-leather covered case with a hinged lid and secured by double locks. Inside, the instruments are held in place within black velvet-covered compartments.
The set includes a battery-holding handle, which serves as the power source for the diagnostic instruments. It features a detachable cap and a screw to secure the attachments in place.
The diagnostic attachments include an otoscope with a magnifying lens and a light for examining the ear canal and eardrum, along with three different sized black metal push-fit heads. There is also a clear glass tongue depressor and a curved hollow tip that can be attached to a push fit and screw-secured light attachment for visualising the nose and throat. The set is completed with a nasal speculum. Additionally, there is an empty storage compartment, possibly for storing small bulbs, which can be opened by pulling the knob on the lid.
This diagnostic set is used for diagnosing common ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) issues such as ear infections, nasal obstructions, or throat abnormalities. Donated by Prof. Oliver FitzGerald. |
