Professional Activities Grimwade Brothers started in Stoke-on-Trent, later becoming Grimwades Ltd when Leonard Grimwade's brother joined. They acquired the Winton Porcelain factory and developed key processes to improve production efficiency. The company expanded by taking over other potteries and introduced the famous Royal Winton chintz designs. They exhibited at the British Industries Fair and eventually changed their name to Royal Winton. After being acquired by Henry Potter Ltd, the old chintz designs were discontinued but later reintroduced when Spencer Hammer and Associates took over and reverted to the Grimwades Limited name.
