DescriptionLetter from John O'Connell, London, to Dominic Corrigan dated 22 June. Having introduced himself O'Connell expresses his support for Corrigan's application but fears 'that ministers but too often give appointment to their enemies, or to neutrals, which they owe to their honest supporters; and so strong is the consideration of this in my father's mind that he thought it worse than useless to write to Lord Morpeth'. Second letter dated the following day, includes a letter from Lord Morpeth (George Howard) to O'Connell, announcing Corrigan's appointment, which O'Connell forwards to Corrigan with his congratulations
