| Description | Record of cases seen in the Adelaide Hospital between July 1898 and July 1900. For each case the patient's name, age, address and disease is given followed by a case history, summary of present condition and a dated record of treatment. The casebook has an index at the front, cases are indexed both by patient name and disease. Towards the back of the volume there is a list of operations carried out during the two year period, detailing patient's name and age, the date and type of operation. The operations listed match to the cases recorded in the book.
Given the time period covered and the references to other doctors in the notes is it possible the casebook was kept by a student or resident in the hospital. |
