| Description | Small collection of the papers of John Rutherford Kirkpatrick, mainly relating to his medical career. John Rutherford Kirkpatrick was born c.1832 and was educated as Trinity College, he was a Fellow of both the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Ireland. Specialising in obstetrics he worked at the Rotunda and Sir Patrick Dun's Hospital, as well as examining in midwifery for the College of Surgeons, College of Physicians and Queen's University. In 1883 he was appointed King's Professor of Midwifery. John Rutherford Kirkpatrick died on April 18 1889. |
