| Description | Metal seal matrix for the Royal Hospital for Incurables. Circular in shape and shows a chalice with a cross on a plinth in the centre and a decorative diamond-shaped pattern in the background. This is surrounded (in reverse) by the name of the hospital and the foundation date 1743. Stamped on the side is the maker's mark "W.MILL/1-1/[BIR]MINGHA[M]". Some indentations and other marks of wear visible. |
