Date1859-1861
Creator NameKing and Queen's College of Physicians in Ireland
DescriptionPapers relating to the question raised by the College as to whether the Apothecaries' Hall had the right to grant Licenses in Medicine as well as pharmacy under the Medical Act of 1858, the College maintained that they did not and that the Apothecaries' Hall certificate was not to be regarded as equal to a Diploma in Medicine or Licence to practice Medicine awarded by one of the bodies named in the Medical Act. File contains a petition to the Lords against an early [c.1830s] piece of legislation which would grant the London Apothecaries Company the right to examine for a license in Medicine, a printed statement on the College view of the situation (1859), and cases for opinion on the subject submitted by the College and the Apothecaries' Hall.
