| Description | Hard bound printed and manuscript register listing pupils attending the Mater Misericordiae Hospital for medical and surgical training. Printed title on front cover reads ‘Mater Misericordiae Hospital Register of Pupils Commencing Session 1861-2’. There is an alphabetical index of names at the front under the following headings: Surname; Christian name; Family Residence; and Page in Register. Individual manuscript entries are listed under the following headings: Number of entry; Surname; Christian name; Professional Standing; Date of Entry; Period Entering For; Commencing; Terminating; Money Due – when due and amount; Money Paid – when paid and amount; Date of Issue of Certificate; and Remarks.
Pupils from Jervis Street and St Vincent’s Hospitals attending only the 3 month ‘Fever’ instructional classes are also noted. Inside the front cover are manuscript notes on the scale of fees agreed by the Medical Board for pupils for nine months, six winter months, three summer months and a perpetual fee noted to be paid in advance, with later modifications of fees - notes make reference to the Medical Board minutes of 7 May 1862 for fees discussion [see MMUHA/1/1/1].
