| Description | Sub-sub series contains various black and white and colour, framed and unframed photographs taken at various nursing events in the Mater’s Nursing history. Due to the large volume of photographs, the sub-sub-series is broken down into 6 headings: Nurse Graduations and Prize giving Ceremonies ([1959]-2002) consisting of group photographs of classes on graduation day, as well as various nursing prize winners individually and in groups, and prize giving ceremonies; Nurse Reunions (1958-[c2000]) consisting of the numerous nursing reunion events held at the Mater over the years; Retirement Events & Staff Photographs (1973-2004) consisting of various nursing staff retirement events as well as photographs of nursing tutor staff; Assorted Nurses’ Photographs [c1940]–[c2015] which consists of various informal photographs of unidentified nurses in uniform in the Mater hospital and in Dublin city; Nursing Events (1956 -[c2000]) which consists of a wide variety of nursing events including fundraising activities and donations, promotional images, national and international events hosted by the Mater, and the Lucozade Nurse of the Year amongst others; College of Nursing Buildings and Mater Hospital [c1962]-[c2000] which contains internal and external photographs of Rosary House, the College of Nursing building constructed in 1954 and the Mater Misericordiae Hospital and campus; and Miscellaneous Images and Paintings (1959-1991) which consist primarily of framed religious documents and images. |
