DescriptionBronze medal by Nicolas Guy Antoine Brenet and Bertrand Andrieu. French, 1807. Obverse: laureate head of Napoleon, facing right, surrounded by the words "NAPOLEON EMP. ET ROI." and on the neck, "ANDRIEU F." Reverse: man with a long beard positioned crosslegged in front of mountain with a winding line of army traffic behind him ascending it; perforated through the word "SIMPLON" below his feet. Some dents around the edge.
