| Description | Letter from Henry Bruce, vice-president of the committee of the Council on Education, (28 September) apologising for 'all the trouble which my request that you would put your report on University Education into writing [has caused]', he promises to show it to all the right people and has already put a copy in the hands of Sir George Grey. Bruce goes on to discuss various points relating to university education. Letter dated 29 November 1865 expresses Bruce's distress at the pamphlet written by Professor Nesbitt with which he totally disagrees, its only value 'is as showing the view of the extreme clerical parts'.
