DescriptionThe transparent medicine bottle, with a yellow-enamelled metal screw lid, houses a single oval pink pill. The bottle’s base is marked with ‘x553,’ ‘211,’ and ‘150.’ The lid, painted yellow, bears the inscription of the pharmaceutical company name ‘Lederle’ in silver. The pink pill is also labelled ‘Lederle.’

The white paper label, written in blue ink, details the drug ingredients, date, and pharmaceutical company. It reads: “100 Lederle 4850-23 Achromycin, Tetracycline with Sodium Metaphosphate, CAPSULES 250mg. Each contains: Tetracycline equivalent to Tetracycline Hydrochloride 250 mg. Sodium Metaphosphate 380mg. *Regd. Trade Mark. See enclosed circular. Expiration Date OCT 1963 4850-198 LEDERLE LABORATORIES DIVISION CYANAMID OF GREAT BRITAIN LTD., London, England”.
