Royal Victoria Hospital Bicentenary Commemorative Plaque

Square-shaped, wooden wall plaque commemorating the bicentenary of the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast. On the front upon dark blue material is a large, circular bronze disc depicting a doctor and nurse attending to a patient lying in bed. Around the edge is inscribed "ROYAL VICTORIA HOSPITAL BICENTENARY/1797/1997". The plaque is backed with dark blue felt and a metal bracket for hanging. Also attached to the back is a photograph and short biography of the artist, John Bryson Martin (b. Groomsport, 1948), along with a description of how the plaque was created and care instructions.

Hernia Truss

Textile truss used for hernia support. Consists of a cream and grey belt-shaped strap with a pale yellow cushioned pad attached, which compresses the hernia. The words "MADE IN ENGLAND" engraved on the metal belt clasp and the suppliers name "J. BRADBURY/SURGICAL SUPPLIES/57 GT. VICTORIA ST. BELFAST" and the numbers "3[6]" and "[7BS/3371]" stamped on the leather fittings.

Sir Patrick Dun's Hospital Rugby Cap

Dark green velvet rugby cap with red silk lining, and gilt stitching, lettering and tassel. On the front of the cap is the Sir Patrick Dun's Hospital coat of arms, the initials "S.P.D.H.F.C" and the date "1900-1901" on the brim. The maker's name and address are on the interior lining: "W.LAIRD./3, CORN MARKET./BELFAST./[O]NLY ADDRES[S]".
