Russian haematologist. Graduated in 1902, Arinkin perfomed the first sternal bone marrow puncture by using a lumbar needle in 1927. In 1919, Mikhail Innokentevich Arinkin became the Head of the Department of Specific Pathology and Therapy of Internal Diseases. In 1936, he founded and headed the Haematology Section at Leningrad South P. and Medical Division-Surgeon.
