  <dc:description>Rectangular silver gilt snuff-box made by Edmond Johnson in 1835 and retailed by West and Sons.  Hinged lid shows coat of arms and motto of Jonathan Osborne ("PAX IN BELLO"), with a boarder of cast and applied acorns and oak leaves.  Inscription on base reads "Presented to/Jonathan Osborne M.D./PRESIDENT/by the Fellows, Honorary Fellows and Licentiates/of the King and Queen's College/of Physicians in Ireland/1835".  On interior side of lid and base are the maker's and retailer's marks and hallmarks for Dublin, 1835.  In mahogany-coloured presentation box.</dc:description>
