Faculty of Paediatrics A Standing Committee on Paediatrics was established in 1976, which lead to the founding of the faculty in 1982. The remit of the Faculty is to promote the interests of children in Ireland, working closely with other interested bodies. It is responsible for the MRCPI Paediatrics examination, and holds clinical meetings. Membership is open to all those working in the field of Paediatrics, the Faculty is governed by a board elected from the members, the Chairman is the Dean. The Dean and other officers are responsible for the affairs of the faculty. 1977-
