The larger label says in red and black in "MacFarlan's 4426 Sterilized Surgical Silkworm Gut 50 strands each 12 inches White Size 3 Medium J.F. Macfarlan &amp; Co. Ltd. Edinburg &amp; London" and the smaller in black ink"When Re-ordering please quote the following: 3GS551". The original colour was meant to be white however over time this has gone to a dark brown. The manufacturer's mark is present on both the box and the vial. Silkworm gut is used as sutures in the temporary stitching of wounds. </dc:description>
