<dc:description>The cardboard case is covered by charcoal black leather. When opened, there are four slots, two containing the two measuring jar, and a glass diabetes urinometer - consisting of three portions. In the upper portion, there are measurements from 0 to 60, written on an ivory scale with black ink along with the letters "W", and the writing "Diabetes."
The middle portion is oval and hollow. The lowest portion is globular, where the liquid mercury is and acts as a weight.
The hydrometer was used to measure the specific gravity of liquids - in this case- urine to test for diabetes. No manufacturer's mark present.
