In the upper portion there is a ivory scale for measurements from 0 to 60on one side, and "T60F" on the other. The scale is in black ink writing. The middle portion is oval and hollow. The lowest portion is globular, where the liquid mercury is and acts as a weight. 
No manufacturer's mark present.
The urinometer and test jar are in good condition, while the cardboard tube presents discoloration.
The urinometer is secured in its position with two cotton pads, one at the bottom of the test jar, the other at the cardboard lid.

The urinometer is a specific type of hydrometer, instrument used to measure the specific gravity of liquids - in this case- urine. </dc:description>
