Vernon's Percussion Hammer The percussion hammer is made of nickel-plated steel by Fannin’s, as designed by Vernon in 1858. It consists of a handle welded onto a shaft and a hammer head. The handle is engraved with "Fannin Dublin Made in England". The hammer head is rimmed with India rubber. Unfortunately, the nickel plating on the shaft is heavily corroded. 1900-1949
