  <dc:title>Midwifery Bag</dc:title>
<dc:description>This is a midwifery bag, brief-shaped, made of brown cowhide with a detachable lining. It features a leather handle and a metal locking mechanism, secured with a key (now missing) and two pull-and-slide unlocking mechanisms in the hinged frame.

Heavily corroded and stained due to mould, the bag features the initials of the owner: 'B.F.' Donated by Nurse Feddis' granddaughter, this bag was used in 1916 in Halles Street Hospital, Dublin. Upon opening, it reveals a stained white cotton lining, detachable from the bag by unbuttoning it.</dc:description>
