  <dc:title>Schimmelbusch Mask</dc:title>
<dc:description>This is the metal frame of a Schimmelbusch mask. Originally, it would have had cotton wool attached for the administration of ether or chloroform during anaesthetic procedures. Invented by Curt Schimmelbusch in 1889, it was used until the mid-20th century. No manufacturer’s mark is present. It is part of the Dr. Diarmuid O’Driscoll Collection.</dc:description>
