Nasal Endoscope The brown wooden box consists of a hinged lid, with a click-in mechanism to secure it. On the top, there is an engraving in German: "Nasen-Endoskop (Salpingeskop oder Antroskop) nach Dr. Hirschmann & Prof. Dr. Valentin." Inside the lid is engraved with "Georg Wolf G.m.b.H. Berlin N.W.6 Karlst. 18" and the base of the box has compartments to store the instrument, one of which has a removable lid featuring a metal knob. The endoscope, also called antroscope, is a long shaft with a blunt, angled tip, featuring a light bulb. This can be inserted into the sinus to allow for examination of the maxillary sinus. The Hirschmann-Valentin is named after two German physicians. The set is completed with a 2metres cable, equipped with a handpiece, that clips into the endoscope towards the examiner's eyepiece. Once inserted and connected, the wires would conduct electricity to turn on the light. 1925-1975
