  <dc:description>A silver water jug of baluster form, having a hinged lid with leafy bud finial, the spout with cast scroll border and engraved with flutes, the s-scroll handle applied with acanthus leaves and two non-metal [ivory] inserts, the base with applied palmettes on a circular foot.  Inscribed "Presented to/George Alexander Kennedy M.D./PRESIDENT/of the King and Queen's College of Physicians/in Ireland/BY THOSE HONORARY FELLOWS AND LICENTIATES/who had not graduated in Arts in Oxford, Cambridge or Dublin./In testimony of esteem for his zealous cooperation/towards effecting the admission of their eminent and experienced/MEMBERS TO THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE COLLEGE./A.D. 1839."  Stamped with the maker's initials "IF" and Dublin hallmarks for the year 1838.  Hand-written label attached to base inscribed "James Fray/Dublin 1838" and also several numbers scratched onto surface including "No. 202, 34[...]".</dc:description>
