  <dc:title>Portrait of John Stearne</dc:title>
<dc:description>Framed half-length portrait of Professor John Stearne (1624-1669), seated wearing the robes of a Doctor of Medicine of Dublin University and holding a book with his left hand. Behind him through a window can be seen part of Trinity College including the last building of the old priory of All Hallows to survive. The monogram "TP" in the bottom right corner. Oil on canvas. Based on the evidence of the wig worn by Stearne and Pooley's age, it seems likely that this was a posthumous portrait.</dc:description>
